Deputy CEO of Delta Academies Trust. I am an experienced teacher and school leader. Building on my experiences as a school leader I have demonstrated my capacity to effect change across a large organisation. I work with and have developed a team of highly effect leaders who share values and a sense of shared responsibility to ensure children benefit form high quality teaching and learning with a strong sense of moral purpose.
Experience
Gillian has had an extensive teaching career within primary education, and held posts of deputy head, headteacher, executive head and now Deputy CEO of a large Multi academy trust (Delta Academies Trust). She is an experienced leader and educator. In her capacity as Deputy CEO Gillian works with leaders, teachers, trustees and other professionals to develop their skill and expertise, steer improvement, and ensure outcomes of the highest quality for children.
She has worked as a headteacher in West and South Yorkshire and in her current role has responsibility for 34 Primary schools in 11 different local authorities.
Gillian has supported colleagues to develop a curriculum model and developed a team of leaders who deliver high quality CPD that directly influences classroom pedagogy. This team are proactive within schools, something Gillian is passionate about – the best school improvement takes place in the classroom.
She works closely with the Teaching school hubs for Selby, Wakefield, Barnsley and Doncaster and is an advocate for the Education Exchange and its philosophy of professional generosity for the benefit of all.
