LOCAL CHARITY MAKES A DONATION TO HELP PUPILS READ AT SELBY COMMUNITY PRIMARY SCHOOL.

Selby Community Primary School is delighted to have received a donation from Tadcaster Volunteer Car Services Association (TVCSA) to provide pupils with books to keep inspire them to read. Selby Community Primary School’s Platinum Jubilee bus has been in operation since the summer and the TVCSA has made a substantial donation of books so that every pupils can find a book that would interest them.

Ian Clennan, Headteacher at Selby Community Primary School, said this is a much welcome donation to support our families during these challenging times. He said: “Children love reading books. This donation expands the variety of books we have for our pupils. At a time when costs are rising and we would not be able to afford this many books, the amazing donation means there is something for everyone to read.”

Ian Talbot (TVCSA Chair) said: “We really enjoyed visiting the school and seeing where our donations are used. We were very impressed by the positive feel of the school and how happy and involved all the children were. It is a credit to all of you and your hard work. The Library Bus is an amazing resource and we are sure will help engage the children in reading. It is a pleasure to keep supporting you.”
